Olivia + Anthony | Destination Winter Wedding at Nicollet Island Pavilion - Minneapolis, MN Wedding Photographer

Not many people can say they met their soulmate in Kindergarten… but Olivia + Anthony were lucky enough to do so.

To everyone who knows and loves them, “Ant and O” have been destined for this day since they met. They began dating in high school and have been inseparable since then. Their first date was at a Mexican restaurant, and Anthony even took Olivia’s parents back to that restaurant to ask their permission to marry their daughter. He even proposed with his great-grandmother’s ring. After over seven years and travelling the world together, these two finally get to spend forever together.

Olivia and Anthony’s stunning destination “winter” wedding in Minneapolis wasn’t exactly a winter wonderland — their wedding day was nearly 45 degrees and sunny! That type of lovely day is extremely rare in January in Minnesota, but we savored every moment. They brought together family and friends from Colorado, Washington, Wisconsin and beyond… I’m sure their guests were thankful it wasn’t -20 and a blizzard!

We began our day at the industrial chic Hewing Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. After some mimosas and an emotional reveal with Dad, Olivia went outside to see Anthony for the first time. It was as if these two had literally been waiting their whole lives for this moment! There were definitely some tears (happy!) and then we had the wedding party and family join us for portraits.

When we arrived at the Nicollet Island Pavilion, we were greeted with the start of a beautiful sunset right on the Mississippi River. They had family and friends come from all over the US and they began to fill the Pavilion. Soon it was time to finally walk down the aisle! An emotional Olivia tearfully hugged her dad and joined her soon-to-be husband and together, they professed their love to each other. There was not a dry eye in the place when they were given a message that Olivia’s grandfather used to share about hands — a good partner should have strong hands and know how to use them… hands to hold, hands to lift each other up, and the hands of the family and friends who will continue to support them and lift up their marriage as well.

An amazing band (Gary LaRue + the Rat Pack) entertained everyone during dinner. As the couple was toasted by their loved ones, it was soon time for Anthony + Olivia’s first dance. They wowed the crowd with some epic dance moves and then they each shared an emotional dance with dad and mom, respectively.

The dance floor opened up with a fun Polka dance as a tribute to Olivia’s grandparents — it was their favorite dance! The whole dance floor was busting at the seams! When the party finally got started, there was the longest “ride the train” Minneapolis has ever seen! As they partied the night away, the dance floor stayed PACKED — I was warned — these folks LOVE to dance!! It was surely a perfect night to remember!

Congratulations, lovebirds!
