Lyndsay + Josh's classic winter ballroom wedding at the Lafayette Club on Lake Minnetonka was a timeless and romantic affair. From the bride's beautiful ballgown to the crystal chandeliers, their celebration was classic elegance at every turn. Even more special for us -- we photographed the groom's older brother's wedding just a few months prior. We LOVED getting to see the family again!
They began their day by getting ready in the beautiful suites at the Lafayette Club and surprised one another with thoughtful gifts. The groom's gift to his bride was especially poignant -- he had lovingly restored an old wooden chest that her grandfather had given her grandmother on their wedding day; he even had a plaque made that included the names and wedding dates of both couples. Not a dry eye in the house!
They chose to have their ceremony at the Lutheran church they had been attending together, the historic St. John's Lutheran Church in Northeast Minneapolis. Their meaningful ceremony was presided over by both the couple's pastor from St. John's, and also the groom's cousin, who also happens to be a pastor in South Dakota! The light that poured in through the stained glass was perfection and we couldn't resist taking some beautiful portraits in the church.
A party limo chauffeured the bridal party back to the Lafayette Club, they partied the night away. They opted for a wedding "cheesecake" instead of a traditional cake and it was a huge hit! The bride, a HUGE basketball fan, even managed to sneak in a few minutes of watching the March Madness finals -- anyone who knows her can vouch that it was quintessentially "Lyndsay" and perfectly fitting to close out their big day.
