Thrilled to announce that this stunning silhouette of Kelly + Grant has won the August 2016 competition from "The Art of the Second Shot", sponsored by Adorama and Lurey Photography.
Fun fact: This location (an Embassy Suites) is about 300 yards from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). It is right in the heart of the hustle and bustle, as there is an interstate between me and the airport. Tons of power lines, light poles, etc. To make this image, I had to back way up, partway down a slope of the small hill, aiming slightly upward to find a clean horizon line.
...You'd never know it!

The "First Shot" at Sunset
Context: Right across the interstate from MSP Airport
Considered the "First Shot": The closest thing to a "pull back" shot I have (unedited RAW/jpeg file), one of the first I took. Powerlines everywhere, and you can literally see the top of the Delta hangars at MSP across the interstate. I was backed way up, down the hill, shooting up slightly to frame out all of the "stuff". Got a clean horizon line and went with it!
