Amy + Joel | Timeless Autumn Wedding at Mayowood Stone Barn - Rochester, MN Wedding Photographer

There is just something utterly perfect about autumn and the sunshine and the COLORS of fall… they were the perfect backdrop to Amy + Joel’s magical day at Mayowood Stone Barn in Rochester.

Exactly one year after their first date, Joel proposed to Amy in Rice Park with a stunning sapphire ring (her birthstone and favorite color!). As they began planning their day, they knew they wanted their celebration focused on their family + friends, as both of them had each lost a parent. When they found Mayowood, they knew it was the perfect place to make memories with their loved ones.

The day began with blue skies and sassy sunglasses for the rehearsal. The couple was keen on having a fun-filled, relaxed, timeless celebration. They chose to say their vows under the branches of the beautiful old oak tree and it was MAGIC.  "All You Need is Love" was the theme of the day, and Amy and Joel had incorporated it into many elements of their day, from the programs to the processional song, and even the cake topper.

They opted to center their day around their family and friends, as both bride and groom had lost a parent. During the ceremony, Joel serenaded his beautiful bride with an incredible ballad on his guitar - the happy tears were flowing and it was so special to witness their love. They planted a unity tree together along with Joel’s son and symbolically began growing their roots as a family together.

After some signature cocktails before dinner, the highlight of the evening had to be the TACO BAR! They chose a nontraditional taco bar for their meal, along with a beautiful dessert spread instead of the traditional wedding cake. During their toasts, a friendly rivalry chant broke out between Luther College

The Blue Bus Photo Booth was a big hit with the guests throughout the evening with epic props and laughter filling the air. The dance floor was popping all night long and even had a laser light show! Best Day Ever, for sure!

Congratulations, lovebirds!
