Amanda + Justin were married in a stunning enchanted garden-inspired destination wedding celebration filled with love, vibrant jewel tones and thousands upon thousands of beautiful blooms. They chose the exquisite Historic John P Furber Farm in Cottage Grove, MN for their wedding day.
It all started with a vision: the bride wanted to take their modern barn venue and transform it with flowers, inspired by her mother's love of flowers and gardening: "Flowers everywhere!". Both from the south, these two lovebirds invited their family and friends to come to their new home state of Minnesota to celebrate their wedding and showcase the beauty that Minnesota has to offer. They planned their event around Memorial Day weekend and kicked off the weekend with a lakeside fete at 6Smith on the shores of the famed Lake Minnetonka. Their invitation suite even showcased a watercolor map of the Twin Cities and the various wedding weekend sites of interest.
On the wedding day, the bride wore an exquisite Tulle New York raw satin gown that fit like a glove and was an unexpectedly perfect choice for their modern, elegant affair that just so happened to take place at a beautiful barn venue. The groom opted for a black tie tux look and the couple waited until the ceremony to see one another. The bride and her father shared an emotional moment together before the ceremony, where she gave him an embroidered handkerchief and he showed off the vintage watch that the bride's mother had given him the day the bride was born -- and he had saved it all of these years, to wear on this day for the very first time.
With an elaborate aisle of ombre pink rose petals and a string quartet playing the Bridal March, it was the perfect modern twist on a traditional ceremony. The bride entered the outdoor ceremony site through a set of freestanding doors and walked to her groom. After an emotional ceremony, the couple joyously recessed through a shower of rose petals tossed by the guests and then celebrated with a champagne toast with their wedding party under the trees as their guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the front lawn. The barn itself was transformed into an enchanted garden, with thousands and thousands of lush flowers adorning the cross-beams of the venue, the head table, and all of the guest tables.
They chose a sleek white-on-white color scheme for their linens and chiavari chairs, with clear beaded chargers and an unexpected menu card displayed underneath with gold flatware and accents. Guests were greeted with an over-sized etched acrylic escort seating display, surrounded by more flowers as they made their way into the barn ballroom. In addition to a traditional wedding cake, they chose a massive, tiered ombre cake pop "cake" was a tasty centerpiece and their signature drink paid homage to their alma mater, Kansas University. They finished the night with the bride surprising her groom with a vintage Rolls Royce, sparklers, and a fountain fireworks exit!
What an honor to be a part of this spectacular wedding day, celebrating a couple we love and have been with since she said YES!
