Gina + Dan | Snowy, Intimate Wedding in the Fall - St. Paul Elopement Photographer

Gina and Dan's intimate St. Paul elopement mixed a bit of old Hollywood glamour and a hint of Minnesota winter.  They had planned an outdoor celebration in their backyard amidst the fall colors -- but Mother Nature had other plans and showered their wedding day with a good ol' dose of Minnesota Winter -- in October!  Their backyard wedding turned into a cozy indoor celebration in their dining room, lined with chairs for their nearest and dearest.  Big, beautiful snowflakes fell through the air and created a bit of a wonderland for their photos (very unexpected, but lovely!), as they adventured through downtown St. Paul.  They were all smiles, despite the chilly air.  As they said their vows, they were surrounded by family and did a happy dance back up the "aisle".  The bride's sister shared an incredibly emotional toast, retelling stories of their childhood and how she had bought (and saved) a meaningful little book about being sisters, which she presented to Gina on her wedding day.  Not a dry eye in the house! After the ceremony and some celebratory toasts, the couple shared their first meal as husband and wife with their guests at the iconic Mancini's Charhouse in St. Paul.  Not even the snow could keep these two from a perfect day!

Congratulations, lovebirds!

Kristin and Marlon's wedding day was anything but ordinary.  These two lovebirds had been waiting for this day for over 19 years.  And in true Kristin and Marlon fashion, they opted for a low-key, beautiful, intimate wedding celebration.

They decided to elope near their home in Woodbury, at the Central Park conservatory.  They shared their relaxed, love-filled day with only a few family members.

The bride and groom got ready at their home and then headed to Central Park.  As Kristin descended the stairs, you could see the glee on Marlon's face!  After some quick portraits, it was time for them to FINALLY tie the knot!

After a short, beautiful ceremony, they shared their first kiss as husband and wife.  Cheers erupted from their family members, and Etta James' "At Last" began to play from the speakers.  Kristin and Marlon shared their first dance as husband and wife on the spot that they said I Do, and not a dry eye in the house!

A quick limo ride to St. Paul found them at the French Meadow Bakery + Cafe on Grand Avenue, where they shared a special meal with their loved ones.  In lieu of cake, the bride chose vegan donuts from Glam Doll Donuts and they shared a donut filled kiss!

As a photographer, we're oftentimes pushed to get wrapped up in the "details" of the day.  But when you strip away all the frills, what's left is a truly incredible, emotional event.  (I was full-on crying as they danced to At Last!)

To witness the love that these two have for one another is truly a privilege. What an honor to document their day!

Congratulations, lovebirds!

Caroline + Zach | Fall Wedding at Minnesota Landscape Arboretum + Bird House Inn Reception - Chaska, MN Wedding Photographer

There are few things I love more than an intimate fall wedding at one of the most BEAUTIFUL locations in the state.  The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum in Chaska is 1,137-acre wonderland of trees, flowers, and rolling rolls.

For Zach and Caroline, this natural landscape was the perfect backdrop for their fall wedding.  As they joined their two families together, they brought together only their very closest family and friends for a very emotional ceremony under the Weeping Trees.  Their ceremony included participation from several family members who helped read meaningful poems and prose, and the bride's sister read their vows to one another as the bride and groom clutched hands together.  Not a dry eye in sight!

The couples' children had assisted in creating many DIY touches for the day, including the lanterns, dried leaves, and more.  After the ceremony, the celebration continued at the Bird House Inn in downtown Excelsior, MN.  Surrounded by their family and friends, they dined on Famous Dave's catering and scrumptious apple cider donuts from Minnesota Harvest Apple Orchard.

Congratulations, lovebirds!
